Handicap 330 Yard Greyhound Races

The 330 yard greyhound race, also known as the 3/16ths of a mile dash, is not run at most tracks. However, it is run at venues such as Palm Beach Kennel Club, Raynham Greyhound Park, and Hinsdale Greyhound Park. The 330 yard dash takes from 17 to 18 seconds to run and is the shortest distance greyhounds are allowed to race, as they break from the box and go around just one turn before heading down the stretch. It is possible to make some lucrative scores when gambling on these super sprints if one knows what to look for.

Instructions

Handicap 330 Yard Greyhound Races

1. Determine the class of the race. Most 330 yard greyhound races are mixed grade affairs, meaning that the better Grade A dogs are often running with inferior B and C grade animals, since it is hard for racing departments to come up with a full field of A dashers. Knowing that a racer is in with much tougher competition than it has recently faced goes a long way in finding a winner.

2. Look for dogs dropping down in class. This means you should be alert for dogs that have been running with the top fields of 330 yard greyhounds but now find themselves facing lower grade competition. This is often the equivalent of dropping two or three grades at once. For instance, a C dog that has been running with the Grade As and Bs that has drawn in with Ds and Es will have a distinct class advantage that must not be overlooked, despite the fact its last few results might be poor.

3. Identify box speed. This is a greyhound handicapping term that means find the quickest dogs out of the starting box. The short length of the 330 yard race means a good start is the most important factor of all. There is no time to make up for being jostled or bumped at the beginning of the race. The dogs that consistently come out of the box before the others have a great advantage in the super sprint.

4. Avoid greyhounds making their first start in the 330 yard races. Greyhound trainers will take their 550 yard racers that come up short down the stretch and place them in the 330 yard dash. However, many first-time starters in the 330 yarders are not prepared to break when the box opens because tracks like Hinsdale in New Hampshire start the lure much closer to the starting box in a dash than they do in a sprint. Many dogs need time to adjust to this.

5. Bet the greyhounds in the one and eight boxes. All things being equal, a dog that has nobody breaking on one side of it has an edge. A snappy breaker in the one and eight can find itself free and clear in a race since neither have runners to their right and left respectively. Greyhounds in these boxes win a much higher percentage of the 330 yard dash races at the majority of tracks that run these events.

6. Search for greyhounds that have had success in the past from the post positions they are now in. There are websites such as "Greyhound Data" and "Rosnet" that list all of a dog's previous races and lines. Some even have archived race replays that can be an invaluable tool when handicapping a 330 yard dash. Going back and seeing how a greyhound performed from the post it has drawn can be immensely helpful when trying to figure out what it will do in a race.

Improve A Child'S Stamina

Children already have enough stamina, don't they? From the minute they wake up in the morning to the moment they lay their heads on their pillows, children are jumping up and down, left and right, giving nothing but headaches to parents and care-givers. However, with high child-obesity rates, the introduction of soda machines to elementary schools and possible heart defects at birth, children's stamina may not be up to par, exposing them to various health problems, including high cholesterol and diabetes. Here's a list of the things you can use to maximize your child's physical energy.

Instructions

Calisthenics

1. Set 10 minutes or more aside for calisthenics five to seven days per week.

2. Engage your child in jumping jacks. They increase trunk flexibility, shoulder endurance and cardiovascular activity.

3. Run in place with your child. Make sure both of you bring your knees toward your hips while pumping your arms. This improves stamina and strength.

4. Stretch your whole body toward the sky. This allows more blood flow to reach cramped muscles. Maintain a straight posture throughout.

5. Push-ups are great for toning arm and shoulder muscles. While keeping your head straight, lie facedown and place your palms flat on the floor, slightly extending them beyond shoulder length. Keep your back straight while lowering yourself until your elbows bend at a 90-degree angle, then bring them back up again, repeating the motion.

6. Walking can improve your stamina regardless of age. As an aerobic exercise, it has many advantages, including burning fat, toning muscles, reducing risk of heart attack and stroke and increasing self-confidence.

Find Target Heart Rate For Fat Burning

Find Target Heart Rate for Fat Burning

Exercise is a crucial part of a healthy lifestyle, and it helps to tailor your routine around your own specific goals. If your goal is to burn fat, you might be surprised to find out you could be working too hard. It all has to do with the type of fuel you body uses at various levels of activity, and fat burn occurs most in low-intensity exercise. If your activity is too rigorous, your body will look for carbohydrates stored in your muscles as glycogen. You'll still benefit from the exercise; you just might not be burning fat. To be sure you're body draws its fuel from your fat cells, keep your heart rate in the Fat Burning Zone.

Instructions

1. Calculate your Maximum Heart Rate. This step is simple, just subtract your age from 220. A 27-year old would have a Maximum Heart Rate of 193 beats per minute (bpm). This number is an approximation of how many contractions per minute your heart can achieve at its maximum. NOTE: You should not pushing yourself to your Maximum Heart Rate.

2. Calculate your Fat Burning Zone, which is 60%-70% of your Maximum Heart Rate. With a Maximum Heart Rate at 193 bpm, the Fat Burning Zone is about 116-135bpm. This is enough of an increase in heart rate to accelerate calorie burn, but it's not so much that your body can't draw all of its energy from fat cells. For experienced exercisers, this level of training will seem easy.

3. Monitor your heart rate during exercise. Many fitness centers have equipment that monitors your heart rate for you, so just keep an eye on that. If you're without that luxury, monitor your heart rate at your neck. Count how many beats occur in six seconds and multiply that by ten.

4. Keep going. Most experts recommend you keep up this low-intensity for a full hour. If you can't do an hour, start with 20-30 minutes and work up to your goal.

Install Speed Laces

Use iBungee or Race Runner laces when installing your speed laces.

Whether a casual walker or a long-distance runner, you probably own a pair of athletic shoes. Having shoelaces come undone during the middle of a workout may be dangerous and inconvenient. Speed laces allow you to tighten or loosen your shoes with the push of a button. The laces are short enough that if they become loose you won't trip over them during a workout. These bungee-cord-like laces need to be installed on shoes with regular eyelets without hooks or loops.

Instructions

1. Remove old laces from your shoes.

2. Place a fitting over your first eyelet hole. You need to see the eyelet holes through the holes of the fitting. The loop part of the fitting will come straight off your shoe. Start at the top lace hole to insert your first speed lace fitting. Skip holes on either side of the shoe so you end up with six fittings inserted into the holes: three on each side, directly across from each other.

3. Attach the fitting's screw from the inside of the shoe so it goes through the eyelet hole and comes out the outside of the shoe.

4. Tighten the screw with the screwdriver until it is secured but not too tight. If you tighten it too much, you may end up stripping the shoe and the fitting.

5. Attach the rest of your fittings.

6. Thread your laces through the fittings in a criss-cross pattern. Begin at the bottom empty holes of the shoe and continue upward, through each fitting.

7. Thread both laces through the race-lock by pushing the button and inserting the laces through it.

8. Knot the ends of the laces together so they don't come loose through the race-lock.

9. Tighten the race-lock to tighten the laces or loosen it to loosen the laces of the shoe.

Increase Cardiorespiratory Endurance

Aerobic fitness is the key to cardio health.

The cardiorespiratory system is responsible for transporting oxygen throughout your body, cleaning out waste and carrying vital nutrients to your organs. By increasing your cardiorespiratory endurance, you strengthen your heart's ability to supply oxygen to the rest of your body. In addition, your lungs and muscles will benefit.

Instructions

1. Perform an aerobic exercise at least three times a week, while maintaining your target heart rate for approximately twenty minutes each time.

2. Figure your target heart rate by subtracting your age from 220, then dividing that number in half. That's the lower number of your target heart rate. Then take your original number and multiply it by .075 to determine the upper number of your target heart rate.

3. Count your heart rate during aerobic exercise by placing your fingers along the front of your throat, just to the outside of your Adam's apple.

4. Determine your maximum oxygen consumption capacity (VO2max) when you're trying to increase your cardiorespiratory endurance. Calculated by recording the distance of the run and the time it takes to complete it, your VO2max indicates your overall cardio health. (See Resources below.)

5. Increase your swim sessions. As a non-impact aerobic exercise, swimming strengthens your cardiorespiratory endurance without risking joint injury.

6. Control body fat by increasing your cardiorespiratory endurance. As you expend more energy daily, your metabolic rate will also increase and you'll burn fat more effectively.

7. Supplement your diet with foods rich in antioxidant to enhance your cardiorespiratory health by reducing free radicals in your bloodstream.

Lose Weight By Jogging

Lose Weight By Jogging

If you are looking to lose weight, jogging is an effective way to do it. Jogging burns a lot of calories and does not cost anything. You can do it at any time, and you can take your infant or dog with you. As with any form of exercise, to get results, you need to vary your workout. If you do the exact same routine all the time, your body will eventually adjust to the workout and you will discontinue getting results. Learn to incorporate jogging into your routine and start working toward your ideal weight.

Instructions

Jogging for Weight Loss

1. Buy sneakers that are specially made for jogging. They should fit you well and provide cushioning. Wearing improper footwear can lead to chronic problems in the feet, ankles, knees, hips and back. Visit a sporting-goods store and talk to the sales associate about your routine. She can help you find the right shoes.

2. Create a calorie deficit. You must take in less calories then you burn off in order to lose weight. You need a deficit of 3,500 calories per week to lose 1 lb. per week. This means that, each day, you must consume 500 less calories then you normally do, or you need to burn off 500 calories through jogging. To lose 2 lbs. per week, you need to combine the two so that you eat 500 less calories and you burn off 500 calories every day. Follow the link in Resources to Healthstatus.com. There is an online calculator where you can enter your weight and the amount of time you intend to jog, to see how many calories you will burn.

3. Shake up your workout. As mentioned previously, you need to add variety to your workout to get the best results, even when jogging. Add interval training to your running program. Run or sprint fast for 5 to 10 minutes and then jog easy for 5 to 10 minutes. On some days, stay on flat roads; on other days, add some hills. Try running on sand or uneven surfaces to challenge your body. Another good option is deep water running. Buy an Aqua jogger belt (see the link in Resources) like the one pictured here. This belt holds you vertical and keeps your feet from touching the pool bottom. You then mimic running on land. You can add shoes and hand buoys to make the workout even more intense. Water jogging is a good option to add variety to your routine, and if you want the benefits of running without stressing the joints.

Make Money Selling Bodily Fluids

Make Money Selling Bodily Fluids

Selling bodily fluids is becoming an increasingly popular way of making a little extra cash. This article details which bodily fluids can be sold and go about it.

Instructions

1. Plasma

The most obvious way to earn money is through selling blood for money, which is usually done through donation centers. What you get paid for isn't actually blood, but plasma, and the process is said to be a lot more painful than donating blood is usually.

The screening process is usually done at the center before the actual donation is processed, and requires that you are free of diseases which could be passed through the blood, and that it is safe for you to give blood or plasma yourself.

Plasma donations will net you $30-$80 per session.

2. Organs

In some countries it is commonplace for people to have their organs removed by a doctor, and to sell them for large sums of money. The laws regarding this practice in the United States are varied, but it is certainly illegal in some.

Although many people think of this as a shady black market type of affair, there are official channels in some places which can be taken. The application process involves a fairly extensive battery of tests to make sure that the organ is functional and that you can live without it.

Most organs will fetch between $20000-$60000, but check legality in your country before you go asking doctors to remove anything.

3. Sperm and Eggs

Both males and females can make money from their sexual organs by selling sperm and eggs respectively. The potential donors are screened for a variety of hereditary traits and ailments, and are required to be in good health. There are even open markets for sperm in particular where successful or good looking men can command thousand for a single vial of their sperm.

Sperm donation is a lot less work then egg donation, which requires daily injections of fertility drugs everyday for a month in order to increase the number of eggs harvested. There is also minor surgery to remove the eggs which carries the usual risks.

Expect to make $60-$120 per sample for sperm and $2000-$7000 per month for egg donations.

4. Surrogacy

Carrying a baby for nine months for someone else is potentially one of the better earning ways to make money from your own body. Only females can do this of course as men lack the appropriate equipment. This practice is also illegal in some places, although is a growing industry.

There are risks of course with this kind of venture, such as the fact that many women find it difficult to give up a baby they have carried for nine months. There are also the usual risks associated with having a baby.

Surrogacy will usually earn you $20000-$70000 for nine months work.

Make A Thin Brick

Thin bricks cover flaws in the construction process.

Thin bricks are used primarily for facing a building's outside and covering up mistakes. The molding that is placed over flooring uses the same principles. It is difficult and time consuming to make a building's outside surface look perfect. Instead of wasting time to measure and calculate every step, the construction team focuses on sturdiness and safety. They cover the unsightly exterior with thin bricks. This makes the building cosmetically appealing. The thin brick concept is commonly used in Spain. Americans later used thin bricks to apply a face to monuments and other buildings. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Brick Mold

1. Cut two 1-by-1 planks to 6-inches long using a table saw. These will be the sides of the brick mold.

2. Cut two 1-by-1 planks to 2-inches long using a table saw. These will be the ends of the brick mold.

3. Place the 1-by-1-by-6 planks parallel to each other, vertically. Place the 1-by-1-by-2 planks parallel, horizontally. There should be a total of four planks.

4. Arrange the planks in a rectangular shape.

5. Nail one end of the 1-by-1-by-6 plank to one end of the 1-by-1-by-2 plank with a hammer and wood nails.

6. Repeat Step 5 until all the sides are nailed together.

Brick

7. Knead red brick clay using your hands. Roll the top of the clay to the bottom. Repeat the process until there are no air bubbles.

8. Cover the outside of the clay with sand. The sand prevents the clay from sticking to the mold.

9. Push the clay into the brick mold with the palm of your hand into the ground. Make sure the clay fills all corners and edges.

10. Level one side of the clay using a putty spreader. Press the flat side of the putty spreader directly on the frame of the brick mold. Remove all excess clay until the side is flat.

11. Flip over the brick mold. Repeat Step 4.

12. Let the brick dry in the sunlight for one day. Flip the brick over. Let the other side of the brick dry in the sunlight for one day. The thin brick is ready to use.

Give A Sperm Sample

Sperm samples may be required for many reasons. They are used to test the motility, morphology and count of sperm present in ejaculate; samples may also be used to test for disease or to determine if a partner has problems tolerating the sperm. Collection of a sperm sample needs to be done carefully to avoid contamination, as this can cause inaccurate readings on sensitive tests. It is important to follow the instructions given to collect and prepare a sperm sample.

Instructions

1. Refrain from sexual intercourse and masturbation for 48 to 72 hours before giving the sample.

2. Wash hands and genitals. If a partner will be assisting with the collection, they must also wash. Make sure that no soap touches the sample or the inside of the collection condom or container.

3. Prepare the area where the collection will take place. Make sure that the collection cup is open and accessible.

4. Ejaculate into the cup or condom. Seal the receptacle and prepare it for transport. Do not touch the inside of the cup or replace any ejaculate that has landed outside of the container.

5. If necessary, transport the sample to the doctor or lab.

Keep A Mileage Log

A small pocket calendar will give you dates to chronologically structure your mileage log.

Mileage logs are kept by business professionals and athletes to track traveled distances. An accurate mileage log gives a day-to-day record of distances traveled. Commercial truck drivers and drivers of company-owned cars are often required to keep a detailed mileage log for every business related trip. Athletes like runners, swimmers and cyclists use mileage logs to track their performance during training sessions. Make your mileage log accessible and update it regularly to keep it current.

Instructions

Vehicle Mileage Log

1. Open the pocket calendar to the day of the trip and write down the mileage reading from the odometer on the line for the corresponding day.

2. Use a separate line for another date or another trip. Close the mileage log with the pen clipped inside and place it somewhere safe and accessible. Securing the mileage log to the steering wheel of your vehicle with a rubberband will make it visible and easy to grab.

3. Write in the final odometer reading in the mileage log above the first record from earlier that day.

4. Subtract the old odometer reading from the new one to get a total distance traveled for the day.

5. Tear the page out of the pocket calendar each time it is filled with mileage information. Store the filled pages in a safe place in your office or transfer the data to a mileage spreadsheet your the computer.

Athletic Mileage Log

6. Write the distance goals for each day in the corresponding day in the pocket calendar. This can be done weeks in advance or at the beginning of each day.

7. Record the the total distance traveled each day next to the goal number for that day in the mileage log.

8. Subtract the daily distance goals from the total estimated distance traveled that day to see if they are above or below their projections.

9. Store the mileage log, with the pen clipped inside, in your gym bag or workout clothes to avoid forgetting to fill it in each time you exercise.

10. Tear the page out of the pocket calendar each time it is filled with mileage information. Store the filled pages in a safe place in your office or transfer the data to a mileage spreadsheet your the computer.

Make Myself Run Fast

Running burns calories and strengthens muscles.

A wide variety of athletes, from basketball players to sprinters, can benefit greatly from learning run faster. If you want to shave a few seconds off your next lap, you will need to focus on technique and strength-building. Vanderbilt University reports that running, "helps lower blood pressure," and, "is often used to treat clinical depression and other psychological disorders." Whether you are running for sport, pleasure or health reasons, it can be fun to push yourself to see just how fast you can finish that next mile.

Instructions

1. Go to a track and use your stopwatch to time how long it takes you to run a single lap as fast as you can. Write this time down, so you can measure your progress at the end of each training week. Set measurable training goals for each week. Your goal may be, "to shave 10 seconds off my mile every week." Keep a log of your times to see if you are meeting your goal consistently.

2. Stick to your weekly running schedule, regardless of how busy life gets. Consistency is key when it comes to shaving time off your mile. Pack a workout bag before going to bed if it helps you get your scheduled run in before work or school.

3. Change up your running routine on a frequent basis, to avoid getting into a training rut. Follow a day of sprints with a day of slow, long-distance running. Do stairs the day after you run laps, and indulge in an easy jog the day after you kill yourself with drills. This allows you to evenly work different muscle groups, which will improve your overall running speed.

4. Increase your breathing speed to increase the amount of blood and oxygen circulating throughout your body during runs. Practice speed breathing by doing 30-second sets of very fast, deep inhalations and exhalations. You may feel like you are going to hyperventilate at first. Don't do more than your body can handle. Increase your speed breathing sets gradually, until you can do a full minute without stopping. Incorporate speed breathing sets into your runs when your body begins to feel tired as they will flood your body with instant energy and make you run faster.

5. Eat a snack with lots of carbohydrates right before you run, for energy. Drink lots of water while you run, to stay hydrated. Eat a piece of fruit if you run for longer than one hour and 15minutes. Eat another small and healthy snack within 30 minutes after your workout, to recharge for the rest of the day. Prepare and eat well-balanced, nutritious meals. Food intake directly affects your running speed, so eat right.

Identify Gruen Watches

Gruen watches were designed and made first by Dietrich Gruen, a German watchmaker who came to the United States in 1867, and later by his son Fred. Early Gruen watches included pocket watches and wristwatches for men and women. Gruen watches were known for their elegant and thin design, marketed by the company as VeriThin. The American-based family-owned Gruen Watch Company closed in 1953, but Gruen watches were made in Switzerland until 1976. Today, the name Gruen is licensed to M.Z. Berger and Company, which continues to produce replicas of classic Gruen watches under the Gruen name.

Gruen watches made prior to 1976 are collectible items, and pre-World War II wristwatches are especially prized by collectors. Identifying a Gruen watch can be done by carefully examining several parts of the watch. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Look at the watch face. Gruen watches have the name "Gruen" on the face, usually just below the 12 at the top of the watch. Watches made after 1953 will say "Swiss" underneath "Gruen." Watches missing the "Gruen" mark on the face or that have "Gruen" misspelled are not authentic.

2. Look on the back of the watch. Gruen watch backs may say "Gruen" and may also have the name of the watch style engraved on them. "SemiThin," "VeriThin" and "UltraVeriThin" are all Gruen marks that may appear on the back of a Gruen watch.

3. Have a jeweler open the back of the watch case for you to look inside at the works. Gruen works are stamped with serial numbers indicating year of make. This may differ from the serial number on the case, so always look at the works for the number. Check your number against the table at http://www.pocketwatchrepair.com/histories/gruen.html to identify the year the watch was made.

Improve Your 5k Race Time

Improve Your 5K Race Time

You've discovered the challenge of the 5K race - a balance of strength and speed. Now, you want to go faster.

Instructions

1. Run at least 40 miles per week in training.

2. Add speed work. Running intervals (faster segments interspersed with a jog or walk) of 1/2 mile to one mile is good training.

3. Do your speed work at least once a week; two to three faster-paced sessions are ideal.

4. Time your speed work against your racing pace goal. Try to run your mile at least 30 seconds faster than your desired racing pace.

5. Try uphill running. Do either uphill repeats or run uphill during a normal training run. Running uphill builds strength.

6. Perform fartleks. Fartlek, or "speed play" in Swedish, is picking up the pace of your running for random distances.

7. Put some stride-outs into your runs. At the end of a training run, open up your stride three to five times (for about half a block). This will help improve leg turnover.

Get Grants From Nonprofit Organizations

Many major corporations and other entities give back to their communities by awarding grant funding to various projects and programs through foundations and non-profit organizations. Getting grants from these organizations requires following a few specific steps.

Instructions

1. Obtain a 501 c 3, the official federal designation of non-profit status, from the Internal Revenue Service. This is a complex and time-consuming process and most organizations require attorney assistance to complete it. The 501 c 3 ensures donors that their gifts to the organization are tax deductible. Nearly all non-profit organizations require IRS documentation of this tax status at the onset of the grant application process.

2. Start your grant search close to home. Non-profit grantor organizations typically give the bulk of their funds in the communities where they are located. For example, The Lego Children's Fund gives preferential treatment to applicants in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.

3. Research each prospective grantor thoroughly. Different organizations have different funding criteria. For example, the ASCAP Foundation funds music education and performer development programs exclusively. The closer your needs are to the grantor non-profit organization's giving focus, the more likely your proposal is to be awarded funding.

4. Ensure you adhere to the submission requirements of each grantor's non-profit organization. No two agencies are identical and incorrect packaging will cause your request to be immediately rejected. Some grantors want a letter of interest. Others want you to complete an eligibility questionnaire and wait for an invitation to submit a complete proposal.

5. Determine whether you will write your grant proposal and package your funding request yourself or hire a professional. Consider the size of the award you are applying for as well as how intricate the grantor non-profit organization's process is. You likely will not need a professional to complete a short form application to win an award of a few hundred dollars. But the investment in a professional grant writer may be well worth it if the grantor organization's process is complicated or you are requesting substantial funding. Have A 1980'S Theme Movie Marathon

Have a 1980's Theme Movie Marathon

Big hair and disco balls are just a couple of things that come to mind when the 1980s are discussed. For those of us who lived through it, the movies of the '80s bring back a flood of great memories and reminders of what is now considered a simpler time. Feel like a light and entertaining evening with your friends and family? Plan a 1980s-themed movie night and share part of the things you loved with fellow film enthusiasts. Grab the popcorn and relax.

Instructions

1. Begin the marathon with a light classic, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." This comical look at a crazy day in the lives of Chicago high school goof-offs is fun and filled with the music and attitude of the 1980s. Great start.

2. "Sixteen Candles" is next on the marathon list, as no 1980s tribute would be complete without the appearance of Molly Ringwald. Sweet, romantic and fun, "Sixteen Candles" will take you back to your own high school crushes and embarrassing family moments.

3. Molly shows her face again in the classic "The Breakfast Club." Filled with terrific music and teenage angst, you may need to pop another bowl of corn to get through this one. Awesome!

4. Get a break from Molly and check out Kevin Bacon in "Footloose." This 1984 dance classic will have you hopping off the couch and doing a little jig! Romantic and cute, "Footloose" will leave you feeling warm all over.

5. Finish off your evening with "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Sean Penn makes an endearing appearance here as does Ray Walston and you'll enjoy the look back at all the high school stereotypes. Dude!

Get Pregnant On Birth Control

Pregnancy, even on birth control

Most of the time, using contraception correctly should prevent pregnancy. Birth control pills, for example, are between 95 percent and 99 percent effective. But if you are not careful, it is still possible to get pregnant while using hormonal contraceptives or other forms of birth control.

Instructions

If You Don't Want to Get Pregnant

1. Keep in mind that the effectiveness of all birth control methods will vary from person to person and that some types of birth control have higher rates of effectiveness than others. Be sure to talk with your doctor about the contraceptive choice that will best meet your needs, whether that's birth control pills, patches or a barrier method.

2. Take the pill around the same time every day (if you are using the pill). Forgetting a single day is not likely to result in pregnancy, but if you make a habit of forgetting your pills, you are more likely to get pregnant on birth control. Use backup contraception if you have forgotten to take your pill to prevent pregnancy.

3. Be sure to follow the schedule recommended by the manufacturer if you are using a patch, Depo Provera injections, or any other form of hormonal contraception. Not changing your patches or other devices or not getting your injections on schedule could mean you don't get the correct dose of hormones and this may increase the risk of pregnancy.

4. Avoid medications that interfere with the effectiveness of hormonal birth control. Certain herbs, such as St. John's Wort, or pharmaceutical drugs in various categories can render hormonal birth control less effective. Your doctor or pharmacist should be able to give you more information about this. If you have been prescribed a medication that decreases the effectiveness of hormonal birth control, use a backup method of contraception or ask to be switched to another drug.

5. Don't smoke. Smoking can interfere with the effectiveness of hormonal birth control.

6. If you are using a barrier method, use it every time you have intercourse. Having unprotected sex, even just once, could result in a pregnancy.

If You Do Want to Get Pregnant

7. Stop taking your birth control pills or birth control patches, if you are using them. If you are taking the birth control for a medical reason other than contraception, talk to your doctor about alternative ways to address the medical issue. Your fertility should return to normal within a few months after discontinuing the birth control pills.

8. Stop getting the injections if you have been using Depo Provera and wait for your first normal menstrual period as a sign that your fertility has returned. This may take three months or longer.

9. Schedule an appointment with your physician to remove your IUD, Norplant or other form of implanted birth control, if that's what you're using. After using implanted hormonal birth control, it may take a few weeks or months before your fertility returns.

10. Be intimate with your partner just prior to and during ovulation once you have discontinued your birth control and your cycle has resumed. Women who have a 28-day cycle usually ovulate on day 14. You can use an ovulation predictor kit to determine when you are ovulating if you are unsure.

11. Have patience. You might get pregnant right away after stopping your birth control, or it might take a while. If you have not become pregnant within a year, talk to your physician about testing for infertility. In general, using birth control should not impair your long-term fertility.

Get A 7 Minute Mile

Use interval training to reach a 7 minute mile.

Running is an effective way to burn calories, lose weight and gain muscle tone. To run a 7 minute mile, beginners must work slowly to build endurance and speed. Beginning runners should spend 30 minutes several times per week running to build endurance. Once a beginning runner is running a distance, interval training is used to gain speed for working up to a 7 minute mile. Training may take place outdoors, on an indoor track or on a treadmill.

Instructions

1. Purchase a supportive pair of running shoes. Choosing shoes that support your body while running reduces the risk of injury. Review your options with a sales person at a sporting goods or shoe store.

2. Warm up by walking quickly for 5 minutes. Use a watch or stopwatch to keep track of time. Run for 1 minute, followed by a slower jog or walk for 3 minutes. Repeat the intervals until you have been exercising for 30 minutes. Repeat the work out three times per week.

3. Build endurance each week by increasing the amount of time running and decreasing the walking portion of the workout. For example, run 3 minutes and walk 1. After 6 weeks, you should be able to endure running 30 minutes.

4. Gain speed by using interval training. Run for 6 minutes, then sprint for 10 seconds. Continue the same interval throughout the workout. Progress to spending longer durations sprinting during each week.

5. Run at normal speed for 1 minute, followed by a minute of sprinting. Repeat intervals for a 30 minute workout. Continue using interval training until you have increased speed enough to run a 7 minute mile.

Get Teenagers To Worship God

Family Praying Together

Do you want your teenagers to have a relationship with God? Do You want them to be saved and live faithful lives? You can instill a love for God in the heart of your teenagers. You can get your teenagers to worship God.

Instructions

1. You must first pray daily. As God has called us to minister first unto our families we must pray daily for them. We must pray daily that we can be used to minister to our children. We must pray daily for ourselves and our relationship with our teenagers. Most importantly we must pray daily with our teenagers.

2. You must model a relationship with God. I was saved when my sons were 9 and 10 years old. They knew me as a non believer. As such it is very important to model that I trusted God. Pray Daily. Read and study your bible. Be active in church. Show your faith. Model your relationship with God.

3. You must talk to them as young adults with their own minds. Share your faith and your relationship with God. Teach them what God says. Have devotions with them. Remember that they are young adults who have their own mind and you can not make them love anyone. But share as you are sharing with another adult.

4. Get them involved in a good God fearing bible based church. The word says "forsake not the assembly of yourselves." We all need encouragement and support as we go throughout life and its' challenges. The positive feedback of teens who are also in church and seeking to have a relationship with God helps. Teenagers do not want to be different. Other teenagers who Worship God help them to Worship God also.

5. Be active in their lives. We need to not just tell them what to do. We need to be an active part of our teenagers life. As we share a life with God and share a life with them it is important that the two lives come together. In other words the life we have in Christ is shared with the life we have with our children. They also share their life in Christ and their personal lives with us.

Lace Tennis Shoes So They Look Like A Ladder

Ladder lacing helps your tennis shoes remain tight.

According to shoelace expert Ian Fieggen, there are over 2 trillion ways that you can lace shoes that have 12 eyelets. Ladder lacing is just one way of tying up your tennis shoes, and it has the advantage of looking distinctive and maintaining shoe tightness. On the negative side, ladder laces are harder to tighten in the first place.

Instructions

1. Remove the old laces from your tennis shoes so they are now ready to have either new laces installed or the old laces reinstalled in a ladder style.

2. Choose one of your shoes. Feed one end of the lace through the bottom left eyelet and one through the bottom right one. Pass the lace from underneath the eyelet to the outside of the shoe. Pull the lace through on both sides until you have an equal length of lace on either side of the bottom two eyelets.

3. Take the tip of the lace from the bottom left eyelet and pass it through the second-from-bottom eyelet on the left from outside the shoe to inside. Leave this lace in the gap between the two rows of eyelets.

4. Take the tip of the lace from the bottom right eyelet and push it through the second-from-bottom eyelet on the right, threading the lace from outside the shoe to inside. Take the tip of this lace and pass it across from right to left before wrapping it beneath the other half of the lace that is inserted in the left eyelet. Pull this lace upward and push it from outside to inside the third-from-bottom eyelet on the left.

5. Take the lace that was originally pushed through the second-from-bottom eyelet on the left and repeat the process as you did with the other half of the lace. Pass it beneath the lace inserted into the eyelet on the opposite side of the shoe so it hooks before running it up to the eyelet directly above. When lacing in this fashion, each half of the lace threads through the bottom two eyelets on one side before alternating sides.

6. Continue lacing in this style until you have reached the top of the shoe. If your shoes have an even number of eyelets, the lace that started at the bottom right eyelet will finish at the top right eyelet, and vice versa.

Improve Retail Pharmacy

Retail pharmacies can carry all kinds of merchandise.

Running a pharmacy can be challenging. You need to make sure the pharmacy is always operating smoothly and efficiently, and that the retail aspect of the business is doing well to make stocking the inventory worth the expense. If your retail pharmacy is not doing quite as well as you'd hoped or operating efficiently enough, there are plenty of things you can try to help improve the way your business runs.

Instructions

1. Keep accurate records of the types of prescriptions being filled by the pharmacy and the types of merchandise being purchased in the retail section of your business. This helps you predict what supplies you need well in advance.

2. Offer more services. If you can become more of a one-stop shop for customers, you can increase your customer base and improve profits. For example, add a photo lab or small food section to your retail pharmacy.

3. Build relationships with physicians, clinics and hospitals in your area. Make yourself available as a free resource for their patients and offer discounts for the physicians' patients. This helps you get referrals to improve the business on the pharmacy end.

4. Train employees well and reward them for good work. A knowledgeable, happy employee is an asset to your retail pharmacy, whether she works with the pharmacist, as a cashier or in the photo lab.

5. Review how your retail pharmacy is doing in every department at least once per quarter. This is where your diligent record-keeping will come in handy. Also, find out where you can make improvements by getting feedback from employees, customers and physicians you deal with often.

Get Free Points On Xbox 360

Get Microsoft points for free.

Xbox 360 users have the ability to purchase and download additional content to their console from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Microsoft points are used as the currency to purchase this additional content. Microsoft points can be purchased in retail stores or on Xbox Live using a credit or debit card. You can take advantage of game vendor promotional offers and survey website offers to obtain Microsoft points for free. Some players also resort to "boosting" or voluntarily losing games with competitors to receive free points as a form of payment.

Instructions

1. Log on to the Xbox Live Marketplace from your 360 game console. Press the "directional pad" buttons on your game controller to browse the "arcade" tab for special offers for games and content available for purchase with Microsoft points. Many special offers include discounts for older titles or a bonus of free Microsoft points with the purchase of a specific title. An example is a recent offer to obtain 400 or 1,200 free points with the purchase of "Limbo", "Lara Croft", "Hydro Thunder", or "Castlevania" by August 31, 2010. Check the Xbox Marketplace frequently for current promotions featuring free points.

2. Create a secondary e-mail account to register with a third party survey site such as Freemicrosoftpoints.org. Follow the registration steps required to complete surveys to earn free points. You will earn survey points for each survey you complete. Follow the instructions on the site to convert survey points to free Microsoft points once you have earned at least 200.

3. Create an alternate gamer tag to use on Xbox Live if you choose to boost other players. Boosters advertise their services by playing games using gamer tags such as "MrRentAKill" and "xXBoostALotXx." Many players will actually initiate contact with the "booster" and offer free points for intentionally losing games so that they can improve their gamer score and leader board records. Although boosting is very common on Xbox Live, it is important to note that this is considered cheating and not acceptable by Microsoft if substantiated.

Get Radio Stations To Cosponsor Your Event

Radio stations can provide entertainment for your event.

Planning and hosting an event is not an easy task. There is a lot of work to be done that you may not have realized when you initially agreed to help out with the event. For example, you may need to find co-sponsors for the event. Co-sponsors are companies that agree to provide funding, goods or services for the event, and ideally, you will have multiple co-sponsors. One industry that you should look into is radio stations. You can get great free entertainment for your event from a radio station, and the stations may be eager to get the free publicity.

Instructions

1. Decide if you want to ask the radio stations for funding or services. You can also let the radio station choose what they want to give, but generally, you should only have one radio station hosting the event, providing music and entertainment.

2. Make a list of area radio stations that might be interesting in co-sponsoring your event. You might choose to contact all of the radio stations, or you might limit your requests to certain stations, depending on the type of event you're planning. For example, local rock stations might be perfect sponsors for an event for high school students, while talk radio stations might not be. You can find radio stations in your area by visiting Radio-Locator.com.

3. Figure out what kind of exposure the different levels of radio sponsors will receive at the event. For example, the radio station that donates $5,000 should get more advertising space and exposure than one that donated $500. Know what you can offer before you approach the radio stations.

4. Ask the radio stations in your area if they’re interested in sponsoring your event. Make sure you let them know what they'll be receiving in return for sponsoring your event in terms of exposure at the event, inclusion in marketing materials and actual advertising space. Share with them how much more exposure they can receive if they donate more.

Get Free Radio Advertising

Radio advertising is usually a fairly affordable option for a small business that wants to get the word out to a targeted area. However, radio advertising is more expensive in larger metropolitan areas due to the higher concentration of people. If you're on a very tight budget, it is sometimes possible to get free radio advertising for your company. You must create some type of value for the station's producers to convince them to talk about your product, service or company on the air at no cost.

Instructions

1. Review your listing of products and services. Choose one or more of your top offerings that you would want to feature on the radio.

2. Call the radio station producer to ask if you can provide the station with free products from your inventory or free services to give away on the air. Sometimes stations give these items away for contests or giveaways to callers. When listeners compete for these contests they stay tuned to the station --- the sweeter the prize "pot" the better.

3. Ask for a mention on one or more of the station's radio programs in exchange for the free items of value. If the disc jockey promotes the contest or giveaway he will usually say a few words about your product or service, which equals free radio advertising for your business.

4. Provide the station producer with show ideas that could help tie your product or service into the radio program. For instance, if you sell a computer software program for scheduling events and one of the radio programs discusses life matters, you can suggest a radio show idea for organizing your life.

5. Prepare a short blurb regarding the product or service including features, benefits and company contact information. Keep the blurb to about 15 to 20 seconds long. Present this blurb to the station producer when you send or drop off the free products to the station.

Keep Skin Moisturized In Cold Weather

Keep Skin Moisturized in Cold Weather

Blasting heaters and freezing weather can really zap the moisture from your skin. To keep skin balanced and healthy, you’ll need to stick to a skin care regimen that focuses on gentle cleansing and deep moisturizing, especially during cold weather. Cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing are the three keys to glowing skin when temperatures drop. Read on to learn keep skin moisturized and avoid products and routines that contribute to dry skin. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Drink water. Keeping yourself internally moisturized and nourished is the number one way to prevent dry skin, especially in cold weather. So fill up on liquids and stay away from excess caffeine and alcohol. The recommended six to eight glasses a day is a good guideline.

2. Exfoliate once a week and use a body scrub before showering. Scrubbing your skin will help remove dead skin cells and promote healthy skin. Use a scrub that is paraben-free, or make your own by mixing 1/2 cup coarse sugar with one cup of coconut oil. Apply scrub to skin using gentle, circular motions. Scrub your whole body and then rinse off with lukewarm water.

3. Skin brush. This is a recommended treatment by the American Academy of Dermatology for dry skin. You can purchase a special skin brush at drugstores or on the Internet. Skin brushing removes dead skin cells, stimulates your lymphatic system and is healthy for your circulation. To brush your skin, start from your feet using firm circular motions. Move up your body, brushing your legs, buttocks, back and torso. When you reach your chest and shoulders, brush in short sweeping motions down to your heart.

4. Use less hot water. Soapy hot water will deplete the natural oils from your skin. Your shower or bath should be lukewarm temperature. Also, keep your bathing times short, between 4-5 minutes, especially in the winter. And stay away from bubble baths that contain chemicals and alcohols. Use a natural or organic bath soak instead.

5. Use a good moisturizing cleanser. Many organic and natural brands sell moisturizing, gentle soaps made with essential oils and healthy plant extracts. Wash with soap only in areas where perspiration and dirt accumulates. These areas are typically your hands, feet, underarms and groin area. Stay away from deodorant soaps. These soaps are notorious for drying out skin.

6. Use a good moisturizer after your bath or shower. Crème and balm moisturizers are designed to seal the top layer of the skin, locking in moisture. Lotions are known as humectants, and are absorbed by skin. Aloe vera and coconut and sesame oil are fantastic humectants to apply after bathing. Use a balm or crème at night and lotion during the day.

7. Put moisturizer on your hands and slip on a pair of gloves before going outside. At night, apply moisturizer to your feet and wear socks to bed. Your feet will feel dewy and moisturized in the morning.

8. Moisturize your lips. The skin on your lips retain less moisture than other parts of the body. Use a good lip balm to lock in moisture. If you have severely dry lips, try medicated lip balms which contain extra-moisturizing ingredients like camphor. To remove dead skin from you lips, brush them gently with a toothbrush once a week. Then apply a good moisturizing balm. Vaseline is a time-tested favorite and suggested on many medical and beauty Web sites.

9. Take extra care of your face. Over cleansing can dry out skin, so only cleanse once-a-day. Try using a gentle cream cleanser at night to remove dirt. Apply moisturizer after cleansing. In the morning, skip the soap and rinse face with lukewarm water. This will prevent the stripping of excess oils from the skin, especially in the winter. Throughout the day, spritz face with facial water (Evian sells a good one) to replenish your skin. Or try spraying your face with rose water. Rose water is available at health food stores. When choosing a moisturizer, remember that crèmes are heavier, an might be best for use at night. A facial lotion, one with sunscreen is best for day use, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. To remove dry, dead skin, exfoliate your face bi-weekly using a gentle scrub.

Loosen A Tight Calf Muscle

A combination of self-massage and stretches can alleviate tight calves.

Tight calves are often caused by excessive plantar flexion of the ankle joint. When the heel is constantly lifted up, the muscle fibers and connective tissues in the calves are shortened, causing a constant flow of neural stimulation to the area. A combination of stretching, ankle- and hip-mobility exercises, self-massage and dry sauna treatment can alleviate tight calf muscles, suggests physical therapist Gray Cook, author of the "Athletic Body in Balance."

Instructions

Self-myofascial Release

1. Sit on the ground, and place the bottom of your left calf on top of a foam roller. Flex your left foot, and place your right calf on top of your left shin to place some pressure on it. Put your hands on the ground by your sides for support.

2. Roll your calf from your Achilles tendon toward the back of the knee. Hold and gently rub any tenderness or painful part of the muscle until the pain goes away.

3. Switch legs, and repeat the same self-massage method on your right calf. Do not rush through this exercise.

Multiplanar Calf Stretch

4. Place a half-foam roller parallel to a wall about 2 feet away. Put your right foot on top of it with your heel on the ground. Put your left foot in the gap between the roller and the wall and your hands on the wall. Turn your right foot slightly inward.

5. Shift your weight toward your left to increase the right calf stretch. Keep your torso upright, and tighten your right buttock slightly. Hold the stretch for three deep breaths.

6. Place your left foot across your body toward the right edge of the foam roll. Hold the stretch for three deep breaths. Do not move your right foot's position.

7. Put your left foot toward the left edge of the foam roll, and hold the stretch for three deep breaths. Perform three to four sets of stretches per calf.

Step-down

8. Stand on top of an aerobic step with your feet together. Do not add risers to the step.

9. Step your left foot down, and keep your right foot and heel flat on the step. Keep your torso upright. Hold the stretch for two seconds. Step back to the top.

10. Perform 10 reps for three sets per side.

Hike To Machu Picchu Peru

Hike to the historic ruins of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu in Peru is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most people who travel to Machu Picchu start in Cusco, Peru. Some travel from there to Machu Picchu by train, while others hike for several days from Cusco along the Inca Trail. Hiking Machu Picchu via the Inca Trail from Cusco is an adventure you won't forget.

Instructions

1. Understand some basic facts about the journey. The rainy season is December through February, and the most popular time to hike is from June to August. The hike begins near Cusco, Peru, in the Sacred Valley and near the villages of Chinchero, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. The average journey takes about four days. Hikers, after exploring the ruins, typically return to Cusco by train from Aguas Calientes, below Machu Picchu. The hike is considered a moderate hike, suitable for any reasonably fit person, but it is recommended that travelers acclimate themselves to the high altitude and less oxygen in Cusco for several days prior to beginning the hike. You must arrange the hike through an official tour organization. It is required that you have porters and a guide, which cost a fee.

2. Arrange airfare to Peru. International flights from the United States and most other countries will be to Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez (Jorge Chávez International Airport) in Lima, Peru, airport code is LIM.

3. Travel by air or bus from Lima to Cusco. The flight from Lima to Cusco is about one hour and very scenic as the plane travels over the Andes. Be aware that Lima is at sea level on the Pacific Coast and Cusco is at 10,800 feet elevation in the Andes, so you will immediately feel the effects of the altitude when you land and step off the plane. At first, simple tasks will cause you to be of breath, but after a day or two you will acclimate to the high altitude. If you travel by bus, you typically have to change buses in Arequipa or in Nasca. The total bus journey is long, more than 24 hours, and winds through the Andes.

4. Make accommodations. You might want to spend your first night or two in Lima; most travelers stay in the Miraflores or San Isidro areas of the city. When you arrive in Cusco, there are many hotels of various types, from the simple and inexpensive to the luxurious and costly, spread around the historic and cultural center of the city. Cusco is the travel and tourism hub of the Peruvian Andes and many travelers make it their base for touring this region of South America. Spend a night or two in Cusco when you arrive to get acclimated to the high altitude and explore the city and surrounding area. Cusco was the cultural heart and the capital of the Incan Empire.

5. Arrange your hike to Machu Picchu with an official tour company that will arrange for you to join a group and have the mandatory guide and porters. You can find many reputable outfits online who specialize in making such arrangements. See the Resources section below for some tour companies offering Inca Trail hike packages.

Increase Poor Circulation

Regular exercise is an important step in boosting poor circulation.

Poor blood circulation is a common symptom of high blood pressure and heart disease, and can also be a cause of these conditions. Although one of the first steps in increasing poor circulation should be consulting a health care professional, you can also make a number of everyday changes to help increase blood flow. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise, among other techniques, is essential in improving circulation and preventing disease.

Instructions

1. Exercise at least three times per week to improve poor circulation, as this is key to increasing blood flow to the heart. Exercise for at least 30 minutes each day, even if it's more low-key physical activity such as taking a walk at lunchtime or playing with your pet. Engage in more intense cardiovascular exercise such as jogging, running, aerobics or team sports for maximum benefit to circulation. Meanwhile, move around at least once each hour to get your blood flowing, especially if you work a sedentary desk job.

2. Watch what you eat. Make nutritious, low-glycemic foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy, lean meat and whole grains the center of your diet to help increase circulation and prevent heart problems. Cut back on foods high in trans fats or saturated fats, replacing them with items rich in essential fatty acids, such as nuts, salmon and avocado, which can increase circulation. Meanwhile, keep hydrated with purified or bottled water, which can also aid in circulatory function.

3. Take nutritional supplements regularly to help increase circulation. Good circulation supplements include vitamin C, vitamin B complex, magnesium, calcium and omega-3 fish oil. Johns Hopkins University Doctors Joel Braunstein and Joseph Toscano also note the effectiveness of vitamin E supplements in reducing the risk of heart disease by improving blood circulation. Additionally, scientific research has revealed that ginkgo biloba increases circulation by dilating veins and arteries and helping blood platelets move through the body.

The ocarina is an important and often used item in the "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," as the name implies. The ocarina serves as an item that triggers several events in the game, including the appearance of a scarecrow known as Pierre. Before you can summon Pierre, you must learn the Scarecrow's Song, which is done by playing a tune to a scarecrow as young Link and adult Link.

Instructions

1. Go to Lake Hyrule as young Link. Stop just before the mouth of the lake and you'll see a scarecrow sitting in a grassless patch. Walk up to the scarecrow and take your ocarina out. The scarecrow will comment on your ocarina; if he does not, position yourself closer. After the scarecrow says a few words, you have the opportunity to create an eight-note song with the "C" and "A" buttons. After you create the song, the scarecrow will dance around.

2. Return to Lake Hyrule as an adult and visit the scarecrow again. Equip your ocarina. The scarecrow will remember the ocarina and ask you to play a song.

3. Play the song you created when you were young Link. Upon doing so, the scarecrow will inform you he never forgot that song and tells you to play that song anytime you want to see his friend Pierre the scarecrow.

Fix A Very Dry Mouth

Dry mouth is a nuisance, and can cause difficulty when eating and swallowing. Dry mouth can be caused by mouth breathing, autoimmune conditions, sinus conditions, allergies, medications, dehydration and anxiety. You will need to see your doctor so he can diagnosis the cause of your dry mouth. After your doctor diagnoses the reason for your dry mouth, he will advise you on treatment options. There are things you can do to relieve your dry mouth in the meantime.

Instructions

1. See your doctor. Your doctor will need to examine you to determine the cause of your dry mouth. He may also request certain blood tests to rule out conditions that can cause dry mouth. Your doctor may also recommend x-rays of your sinuses to determine if you have an obstruction in your nasal cavities that is causing you to breathe through your mouth, which contributes to dry mouth. Make sure to give your doctor a detailed medical history and tell him what medications you are currently taking. Over-the-counter medications such as antihistamines are notorious for causing a very dry mouth.

2. Drink water. Plain water will keep you hydrated and keep your mouth moist. Stay away from alcoholic beverages and drinks that contain caffeine because they can contribute to a dry mouth. Keep a glass of water on your nightstand so if you feel dry during the night, you will have your water within reach.

3. Try artificial saliva products. You can try alcohol free artificial saliva products that are available over the counter. These products are usually available in sprays or rinses. Do not confuse artificial saliva products with alcohol-containing mouthwashes. Read the labels carefully to make sure the product does not contain alcohol.

4. Ask your doctor about prescription medications that help increase saliva production. You doctor may reserve these medications for extreme cases of dry mouth, when other treatments are ineffective.

5. Suck on sugar-free hard candies. Sugar-free hard candy will promote the flow of saliva and relieve your dry mouth. Sugar-free gum will also help, because chewing stimulates saliva flow.

6. Chew ice chips. Chewing on ice chips helps moisten your mouth. The ice will help alleviate your dry mouth, and chewing stimulates salivary glands to product saliva.

Have An 80'S Movie Marathon

The '80's were full of memorable trends like leg warmers, teased hair and the Rubik's cube. That's just to name a few. However, as VH1 has documented various times through the "I Love the 80's" installments, the movies made during this time period may be the most unforgettable thing about the decade. From 1980 to 1989, Hollywood provided a number of movies each year that still resonate with people today. Many movie marathons have been inspired by these classics! It's a fun and easy event to plan, and it's a sure fire recipe for a successful party. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Start out in 1980. Begin your marathon with "Caddyshack," "Airplane!" and "The Shining." With a look at a comical golf club, an airplane crew on the verge of disaster and the chilling look at how "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy," you'll be well on your way into your journey into 80's movies! Watch "Xanadu," too. You'll get a look at pop culture in the '80's. In this cult classic, a Greek muse (played by Olivia Newton-John) inspired a man to follow his true dream: opening a roller disco!

2. Head into 1981. Watch "The Great Muppet Caper" and "Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark." Join Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo and Miss Piggy as they head to Britain to interview and assist a rich jewel thief victim. Switch gears and join Indy in his first quest to find the Ark of the Covenant as he stays one step ahead of the Nazis.

3. Enter 1982 by watching "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "ET:The Extra-Terrestrial." Amy Heckerling's "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" starring Sean Penn is the first high school comedy. It came long before "Clueless" came on the scene. "E.T." gives Drew Barrymore her breakout role as one of the children helping a misguided alien return to his home planet.

4. Make a quick stop in 1983 to watch "Risky Business." Tom Cruise is a teenager with an empty house looking for a good time while his parents are away. Unfortunately, he lets things get a little out of hand.

5. Hang out in 1984 for a bit with "Footloose," "Sixteen Candles," "The Muppets Take Manhattan," "The Karate Kid," " Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," and "The Terminator." Kevin Bacon cuts "Footloose" in this musical about a town that bans dancing, and Molly Ringwald gets her start as an 80's icon in "Sixteen Candles." The rest of the movies listed are also classic, must-see flicks.

6. Head into 1985 with 80's classics such as "Back to the Future," "Weird Science," "The Breakfast Club," and "The Goonies." Michael J Fox heads back in time in Doc Brown's Dolorian. Nerdish teens--played by Anthony Michael Hall and Ian Mitchell-Smith--attempt to create the perfect woman in "Weird Science." We see Anthony Michael Hall again. He spent a Saturday in detention along with Molly Ringwald, Judd Hirsch and Emilio Estevez in "The Breakfast Club." That's an all-time favorite for many. However, "The Breakfast Club" is rivaled for the most popular 80's movie title by "The Goonies." In the latter film, Cory Feldman and Sean Astin are part of the Goonie gang. They follow a pirate treasure map that takes them on the adventure of a lifetime.

7. Spend some time in 1986, with "Pretty In Pink," "The Money Pit," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Short Circuit," and "Labyrinth." Molly Ringwald is back once again in "Pretty In Pink." "The Money Pit" stars Tom Hanks and Shelley Long as a young couple desperately trying to repair their run-down home. Matthew Broderick plays Ferris Bueller, a rebel who has the time of his life as he fakes sick to stay home from school with his best friend and his girlfriend. Number 5 in a group of experimental robots escapes in "Short Circuit." David Bowie, Jareth the Goblin King, threatens to keep teenage Sarah's baby brother hostage if she cannot solve his labyrinth within 24 hours in "Labyrinth."

8. Stop off in 1987 with "Lethal Weapon," "Dirty Dancing" and "Spaceballs." Mel Gibson and Danny Glover star as sergeants that must learn to work cooperatively with each other in "Lethal Weapon," and Baby learns that "no one puts her in a corner" in the ever popular "Dirty Dancing." Laugh it up in hyperspace with Mel Brooks' "Spaceballs." It is, of course, a spoof of "Star Wars," and it originally used the tag line "May the farce be with you." "Three Men and a Baby" is also worth checking out for its hilarious antics and cast that is classic '80's: Ted Danson, Steve Guttenberg and Tom Selleck.

9. Jump into 1988 with "Big," "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "Rain Man." Tom Hanks stars as a young boy who wishes to be an adult. He wakes up one morning to find that his wish has come true in "Big." Roger Rabbit tries to clear his name of murder and works to get a toon-hating detective on his side to help him in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." Dustin Hoffman stars as the autistic savant brother of self-centered pompous Tom Cruise in "Rain Man."

10. End your journey through the movies of the 80's in 1989 with "Say Anything," "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation." John Cusack stars in "Say Anything" as the unlikely underachieving boyfriend of the class valedictorian. Indy has another adventure in "The Last Crusade" when he searches for his father who goes missing while searching for the Holy Grail. Join the Griswold family, headed by Chevy Chase, as plans for the Christmas holiday turn disastrous in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."

Get More Stamina Naturally

Getting more stamina naturally can help make your days more pleasant. When we're constantly feeling tired, when tend not to get through our days effectively. You have trouble concentrating, along with having mood swings. Obviously sleep problems can help contribute to lack of stamina that you're feeling. You don't want too much energy, where you're constantly relying on substances like coffee and sugar. Those are instant ways to increase your stamina, but it wears off as the day goes on.

So there are natural and healthy ways to help increase your stamina. A lot of times what you eat can contribute to your energy. Getting proper sleep is most important thing. Those who have insomnia, are going to lack energy regardless. So before you find natural ways to increase your stamina, you'll have to change your sleeping patterns.

Instructions

1. Get full eight hours of sleep. Your body typically needs 8 hours of sleep. No more, or no less regularly. Sleeping too much can still cause you to lack energy throughout the day. If you're struggling with insomnia, there could be a few reasons for that. Either one, you're stressed out in your life. You have too much on your mind, and you're feeling a bit of anxiety. That will cause sleeping problems. If it's very severe, talk to a doctor.

Another reason can just be bad sleeping habits. For example, do you eat before going to bed? Do not drink a lot of caffeine, especially before going to sleep. These things give the body energy, and it's hard to just shut it down when you're ready for bed. Don't rely on alcohol and drugs to make you drowsy. Your body needs a routine. Your body needs a set time on when to go to sleep. You can't keep switching when you go to sleep, because your body won't adjust.

I'd suggest doing things that make you relax before going to sleep. Read a book, take a warm shower, or drink some chamomile tea. These are ways to relax your body and it will help you get to sleep. Also, make sure you're comfortable when sleeping. Discomfort can cause sleeping problems.

2. Eat a breakfast to start off the day. Breakfast is the most important meal. Why is that? Because it gives you the energy needed to start the day off properly. Eat foods with fiber, carbs, and high in proteins. Bananas, grain cereals, and fruits are good sources for protein. Eat a healthy breakfast.

3. Drink limited amount of caffeine. I think caffeine, when drinking too much, actually causes lack of stamina. Think about it, caffeine keeps you up! Drinking too much of it can cause sleeping problems. Which will lead to lack of stamina throughout the day. Don't drink caffeine throughout the day.

4. Eat brain foods. Your brain needs a proper nutrition. Certain fats will boost your energy. Brain foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids. Your brain when functioning on a healthy level, allows you to be more alert and boost your energy levels. Foods high in omega-3 fatty acids are fish, salmon, walnuts, strawberries, green leaf vegetables, spinach, broccoli, soybeans, halibut, shrimp, tofu, scallops, squash, oregano, and cabbage.

5. Drink 8 glass of water a day. Water is a natural way to increase stamina. Some speculate exactly how much water you should drink. It depends on your weight, and daily activity. Those who are over weight might need to drink more than 8 glasses a day. Water increases oxygen to your muscles. Water increases your metabolism and activity in your body.

6. Get a daily workout and stay active. You would like to try to workout daily. Running, jogging, or speed walking. Activity increases your energy. It's important to stay active. When you constantly sit around, you don't use your energy. It's important to burn your energy throughout the day. It increase your stamina and allows to be more effective. Don't over do it, though. Have breaks during the day and times to relax. You want to avoid stress, because that wears you down as well.

2. Make a design on a piece of paper for the flier. It should measure roughly 6-by-4 inches. Draw a box this sized on the paper.

3. Give your barbecue a name. Write this as a heading on the flier. Center it at the top using big, bold, capital letters.

4. Write down clearly the list of information your created. Keep it simple and clear because whoever reads the flier needs to understand and digest the information quickly. Make it into bullet points below the heading but use a smaller font.

5. Illustrate the flier using one image for ultimate impact. Print a picture of a grill with burgers off the Internet or get creative and sketch it yourself.

6. Decorate the flier using colored pens. Color in any pictures you have drawn and go around the letters with a different color.

7. Photocopy the flier in color and then trim its edges so no white paper is exposed.
