Get Mary Kate Olsen'S Style

Ranked by "Forbes Magazine" as one of Hollywood's top-earning young celebs (rivaled only by her twin sister), Mary-Kate Olsen makes more than enough money to support her eccentric fashion sense. If you covet Olsen's inimitable style but don't have her cash, you can still emulate the unique, vintage look without breaking the bank. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Get inspired by browsing the Elizabeth and James clothing line, created by the Olsen twins and on sale at Bergdorf Goodman. While you may not be able to fork over $200 for a pair of leggings, you'll get some stylish ideas for your next bargain-hunting trip.

2. Create your own boho-chic style by visiting your local Goodwill retail store (see Resources below). Short for "bohemian" in the fashion world, boho style got its roots in the carefree, flower-power style of the 1960s and 70s. Often photographed wearing earthy fabrics and long, flowing clothing, Mary-Kate can pull off mixed patterns, huge belts and bulky layers like no one else can. In fact, many of her clothes look like they came right out of a thrift store.

3. Splurge on one of Olsen's fashion favorites, a Balenciaga bag. Since you're buying your boho clothes at Goodwill, you owe it to yourself to drop some cash on these oversized, designer purses, which can run upwards of $1,500. Just remember, Mary-Kate always carries more than one giant handbag, so you might want to head back to the thrift store to buy the second one.

4. Invest in a selection of seriously big shades. Check out The Sunglass Man Online, where you'll find a variety of oversized Gucci, Christian Dior and Ray-Ban Wayfarer replicas for under $25 each.

5. Browse eBay for gladiator boots in all sizes and colors. SassyBella.com caught Mary-Kate sporting this vintage fashion must with a short, baggy black dress last fall.

6. Imitate Mary-Kate's flowing, hippie hairstyle by applying a curl-enhancer and blowing out your long locks on low until they're 80-percent dry. Follow the blow-drying process with a small amount of lightweight hair wax or pomade, scrunching your damp hair sections gently to encourage relaxed curl. Allow your hair to dry before parting it with your fingertips so you achieve an abstract, mussed-up look.
