Have A Hayley Mills Movie Marathon

Born in April 1946 to actor Sir John Mills and novelist/playwright Mary Hayley Bell, Hayley Mills was a well-known screen star throughout the 1960's, mostly due to her role in the original "Parent Trap." Hayley is also well-recognized as Miss Bliss on the 1980's TV series "Good Morning, Miss Bliss," which was later re-named to "Saved by the Bell". Take a trip back to the 1960's and enjoy the family-fun roles portrayed by this sunny London actress throughout the decade. Does this Spark an idea?

1. Watch the 1960 family comedy-drama "Pollyanna." A 14-year old Hayley stars as Pollyanna, a young girl with a sunny disposition determined to make the best of any situation. When she faces a bitter town that is home to her feared aunt, she discovered it is littered with feuds. She works to transform the townsfolk with her ability to bring out betterment for all. Agnes Moorehead, known as Endora on the 1960s/1970sTV show "Bewitched," is also seen in the film.


2. Watch the 1961 family romantic comedy "The Parent Trap." Hayley Mills stars as identical twins Sharon and Susan who meet at a summer sleep away camp and discover their parents divorced and separated them at a young age. The two scheme to switch places and get their parents to reunite. Maureen O'Hara stars as their mother, with Brian Keith playing their father.


3. Watch the 1963 musical comedy "Summer Magic." Bostonian widow Mother Carey and her three children move to a small town in Maine where postmaster Osh Popham (played by Burl Ives) helps them move into a run-down old house he fixes up for them. Join Hayley Mills as they children discover that the house might not be not entirely uninhabited.


4. Watch the 1964 family mystery "The Moon-Spinners." Hayley portrays Nikki Ferris, a girl on a trip to a Greek island with her aunt who becomes accidentally involved with theft and murder.


5. Watch the 1965 family comedy "That Darn Cat!" A woman is kidnapped and manages to send a message asking for help with a wandering cat. Hayley portrays the cat's owner who calls the FBI and start them on their case to follow the cat and save the woman held captive.


6. Watch the 1966 comedy "The Trouble With Angels." Hayley stars opposite June Harding as they portray two students at St. Francis Academy for Girls who keep the Mother Superior and all the Sister on their toes through their various "scathingly brilliant ideas."
