Get Sunglasses From The Bottom Of A Pond

A dock is the perfect platform for sunglasses retrieval.

When your favorite sunglasses falls into a pond and sinks to the bottom, you have a couple options for removal. The way you retrieve the sunglasses from the bottom of the pond depends on the clarity of the water. Water with good visibility allows you to retrieve the sunglasses from the surface. Murky water requires entering the water and retrieving them below the surface. The temperature of the water and weather conditions should be your first concern when attempting a retrieval of sunken sunglasses. Some things just aren't worth risking your life for.

Instructions

Clear Water

1. Bend a hook at the end of a long piece of stiff wire with a pair of pliers.

2. Put on a Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device (PDF) and climb into a seaworthy vessel. Float the vessel out to the location. The way you float out will depend on the type of propulsion the vessel uses to move.

3. Lower the hook down to the sunglasses and catch them with the hook. Pull them to the surface.

Murky Water

4. Put on a wetsuit, a pair of swimming fins and a face mask.

5. Swim to where the sunglasses were lost.

6. Swim down to the bottom and look for the sunglasses. Resurface for air as often as needed. Keep searching until you find them.
