Learn Spanish Using Podcasts

Instead of attending a Spanish class at a college or local high school, you can study Spanish on your own time at your own pace. Using technology like Podcasts you can purchase or download lessons to listen to while on the go or during designated study times. You can play Podcasts through iPods or a computer with speakers. Keep in mind you will need headphones if you wish to use Podcasts in public locations.

Instructions

1. Peruse the Podcasts available through the Apple iTunes online store. Click "Preview" to see if the Podcast is easy to understand or enjoyable to listen to. Click "Download" to purchase the Podcast. Some Podcasts are free of charge, but once you download it will continue to add the newest ones to your computer.

2. Access your "iTunes" folder on your computer by clicking on "Start" and then clicking on "My Music." Locate the Podcast that you just downloaded and click the file to play it. Make sure you are in a quiet area free of distractions. Plug your headphones in and listen to the Podcast. Repeat phrases to familiarize yourself and use a notebook to take notes.

3. Add the Podcast to your iPod to listen in your car, while on the go, while doing housework or while working out. To do this, plug your iPod into the computer and open "iTunes." Drag the file from your "iTunes Library" to your iPod on the left menu column. Safely eject the iPod and access the file under the "Podcasts" on the main iPod menu.
