Have A 1980'S Theme Movie Marathon

Have a 1980's Theme Movie Marathon

Big hair and disco balls are just a couple of things that come to mind when the 1980s are discussed. For those of us who lived through it, the movies of the '80s bring back a flood of great memories and reminders of what is now considered a simpler time. Feel like a light and entertaining evening with your friends and family? Plan a 1980s-themed movie night and share part of the things you loved with fellow film enthusiasts. Grab the popcorn and relax.

Instructions

1. Begin the marathon with a light classic, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." This comical look at a crazy day in the lives of Chicago high school goof-offs is fun and filled with the music and attitude of the 1980s. Great start.

2. "Sixteen Candles" is next on the marathon list, as no 1980s tribute would be complete without the appearance of Molly Ringwald. Sweet, romantic and fun, "Sixteen Candles" will take you back to your own high school crushes and embarrassing family moments.

3. Molly shows her face again in the classic "The Breakfast Club." Filled with terrific music and teenage angst, you may need to pop another bowl of corn to get through this one. Awesome!

4. Get a break from Molly and check out Kevin Bacon in "Footloose." This 1984 dance classic will have you hopping off the couch and doing a little jig! Romantic and cute, "Footloose" will leave you feeling warm all over.

5. Finish off your evening with "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Sean Penn makes an endearing appearance here as does Ray Walston and you'll enjoy the look back at all the high school stereotypes. Dude!
