Host a Spaghetti Fundraiser
Charities, churches and schools use fundraisers to raise funds for special projects. A spaghetti fundraiser is a popular choice because spaghetti is inexpensive to make, and many people enjoy pasta. You can host a spaghetti fundraiser in a large home, a large hall or in a community center. With some good planning and nice extras, your fundraiser will be a success for your worthy cause.
Instructions
1. Plan the date, time and location of the fundraiser. Verify the availability of your volunteers on that date. Check community boards to verify there are no other important local events for that day.
2. Set a price to charge for each adult and child. Set a goal of how many dinners you want to sell. Decide how many portions you will need to reach that goal. Subtract the cost of each meal from the meal price. Count this amount as your profit.
3. Make a menu. Besides spaghetti, sauce and meat, you likely will want to include bread and salad.
4. Advertise your fundraiser at least two weeks in advance of the event. Use social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to reach people online. Send e-mail invitations and printed invitations to those you want to invite. You may want to set up a blog to provide people with detailed information about your cause and your upcoming event.
5. Ask for donations from local grocery stores. Purchase other supplies you need, such as pasta, sauce, meat and food for the fixings. Pick up paper products and tablecloths.
6. Prepare the food on the day of the event. Make large pots of sauce and meatballs. Cook the pasta. Cut up the bread and spread it out on trays. Put salt and pepper shakers on the tables along with some Parmesan cheese. Prepare the salad and toss it with Italian dressing.
7. Collect money from guests as they arrive. Thank them for participating in the fundraiser. Serve everyone their meals or prepare to-go boxes of food.
