Join A Track Team

Track teams are a fun way to run.

Running is one of the most popular forms of physical fitness in the world today. People of all ages, skill levels, and physical fitness conditions partake in the sport. Road races, including short distances as well as half-marathons and full marathons are also popular. But for people who dislike the often solitary nature of running, joining a track team is a good way to make running a team sport. Finding a track team is a relatively easy process if you follow a few short steps.

Instructions

Join A Track Team

1. Consult your local Yellow Pages. Look for running stores and running clubs in your area. Call them and ask if they have a track team that is open to the public.

2. Call your local school if you are a student. Nearly every school of any size has a track team. Find out when they hold tryouts.

3. Meet with the coach of the track team. If the team doesn't have a coach, they will have a director or manager. Ask about the required fitness level to make the team.

4. Train for the team. Judge your abilities and compare them to the requirements of the team. Keep working until you can meet those requirements.

5. Match your skill level with the events offered by the track team. Try out for the team. Pay any team or club dues and attend all practices and meets.
