Increase Gas Golf Cart Speed

Golf cart

Once used only for the golf course, golf club carts are now a popular feature on personal estates, parks, malls and a variety of locations. These gas carts are usually restricted to about 10-12 miles per hour on the golf course because of the nature of their use, but can be tampered with to increase their speed on and off the course. Increasing the speed of a gas golf cart can be done in simple ways.

Instructions

1. Remove any clubs, equipment and excess parts from the cart that are unnecessary. These include arm rests, rain covers, roofs and equipment racks.

2. Lift the seat on the cart to access the engine and locate the metal T-shaped governor in the engine. Pull the governor backward toward the rod behind it and secure it using a rubber band or some tape.

3. Add larger tires to the cart. Though your cart will still be moving at the same revolutions per minute, these revolutions will cover more ground more quickly on larger wheels.
