Keep White Shoes Looking New

White shoes are a classic wardrobe accessory that have an image of being clean, wholesome, and preppy. They are also the footwear of choice for everyone from athletes to nurses. The trouble is that they seldom stay white for long, picking up dirt, grime, and grass stains from the ground. By protecting them from the elements, touching up discolorations as they happen, and cleaning them regularly, you can keep your white shoes looking like new. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions


Canvas shoes


1. Spray a fabric protector spray, such as Scotchgard, onto all sides of the shoes to create a barrier which will help repel stains.


2. When outside, stay on sidewalks to avoid grass and dirt stains.


3. Touch up minor marks with a bleach pen like the Clorox gel version.


4. Do a thorough cleaning after every several wears. Remove shoelaces and put both laces and shoes in the washing machine with detergent and wash on warm. Let air dry.

5. Apply a leather conditioning balm onto all sides of the shoes to create a barrier which will help repel moisture and grime.


6. When outside, stay on sidewalks to avoid grass and dirt stains.


7. Touch up minor marks with white shoe polish.


8. Wipe each entire shoe clean with vinegar after every several wears and reapply the conditioning balm.
