Have A Fundraiser

Have a Fundraiser

Fundraisers are a great way to give money to a particular charity, pay for a special trip or help people in need. They can be small and simple or huge grand events. The type of fundraiser you plan will depend on the amount of money you need to raise and the number of volunteers you have available. Youth fundraisers typically involve selling something, while adult fundraisers can be more effective as events. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Have a Fundraiser

1. Decide what kind of fundraiser you'll have. A fundraiser can involve selling something, hosting a fundraising event or benefit, seeking sponsorship, or providing a service such as a car wash. You want to choose a fundraiser you can feasibly pull off with the number of people involved, and be confidant that you will raise an adequate amount of money.

2. Organize the logistics. This would include choosing a date and time for your fundraiser, coordinating delivery and pick-up of any needed items or products, advertising the fundraiser and addressing other event needs.

3. Gather your volunteers. Whether you are having a car wash or a dinner/ dance, you'll need to delegate work to other volunteers involved in the fundraiser. It is best to have a meeting with all the volunteers to explain how everything will happen and what needs to be done.

4. Close the fundraiser and collect the money. If you are selling something to raise money you'll need to collect all the money from the volunteers selling and make sure all products being sold were either sold or returned. If you were hosting a fundraising event, you'll want to let the people attending know where the money will be going and when pledged donations will need to be in by.

5. Thank everyone. When putting on a fundraiser it is vitally important to thank volunteers, attendants, buyers, sponsors and anyone else involved in the fundraiser. If local businesses were involved, it is best to thank them publicly to give them free advertising. Send thank you letters to anyone who made a large donation.
