Make Christmas Party Flyers

Christmas party flyers can be creative ways to gather people together.

Creating festive flyers to announce your Christmas party can be a cost-effective, efficient and enjoyable activity. Flyers work best when you do not intend to send invitations but want to let targeted people know about your event. Use a computer program such as Microsoft Publisher with all of its creative options for flyers that will draw guests to your Christmas party. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Publisher from an icon on your computer's desktop or from the Start menu. Select "Flyers" from the "Publication Types" panel on the left side of the opening page.

2. Select a flyer template. Publisher 2007 provides a selection of event flyers. Pick the flyer that best suits your needs and taste. Remember that you have the ability to change every element should you want to do that. Double-click the template of your choice to open Publisher's design features.

3. A snowy landscape invites Christmas thoughts.

Customize the flyer template with Christmas images, colors and text. Format the flyer with "Page Options" on the left side of the screen. Add images and/or photos from your computer. Choose Christmas images, such as wreaths, snowy scenes and bright ornaments. Experiment with the placement. See where the images look best and allow for necessary text. When you decide on images and placement, save your work.

4. Change color and font schemes to complement a Christmas party theme. "Color Schemes" lets you select a spectrum of coordinated colors such as burgundy, cranberry and "mistletoe" to send subtle festive holiday messages.

5. Christmas trees join holiday revelers together.

Add text that resounds with holiday enthusiasm and anticipation. In addition to the basic information such as where and when, you might write something like, "'Tis the season for friends and colleagues to gather 'round the tree and under the mistletoe. Gather together for cups of Christmas cheer and festive snacks. God bless us, everyone!"

6. Print your finished product. If you have a color printer, print your Christmas party flyers yourself or use the printing services of an office supply store. Save your file and copy to a CD. Use a paper color that will best complement the flyer colors.
