Identify A Vintage Campagnolo Crank

Check to see if your bike has a Campagnolo crank.

The Campagnolo company produces some of the highest-quality bicycle components in the world. According to the Campagnolo website, the company is actively selling its products in 30 countries in 2010, but it still produces most of its components in the old Italian factory in Vicenza. Campagnolo has been part of the bicycle world for decades, and many of their components, including their quality cranks, have been included on racers from a number of different companies. Fortunately, the brand is so well-known among bike enthusiasts that it is possible to identify any Campagnolo parts with the right resources.

Instructions

1. Contact the Campagnolo company. The company keeps records of its different products, including cranks. Send in a photo of the crank you would like to have identified. You also can request catalog information for the part in question.

2. Search on the Campy Only website for information and photos. This website maintains a large gallery of Campagnolo enthusiasts displaying their bicycles with Campagnolo parts. The website also includes company catalogs for Campagnolo parts dating back to the 1950s, which you can use to identify and research different cranks.

3. Post photos of the crank and requests for information on the Retro Bike Forum. This forum is frequented by bike enthusiasts, mechanics and experts who are eager to help.
