Lose A Belly Fat Pooch

The last bit of belly fat, sometimes called a "pooch" can be difficult to get rid of. If you want to lose a belly fat pooch, you'll have to work hard, with strenuous exercise and a strict diet. You can't reduce only the fat in your pooch--you have to have focus on overall fat reduction to get rid of belly fat. With dedication, you'll be able to reduce belly fat and get a flat stomach.

Instructions

1. Exercise to burn calories and fat. Your pooch is made up of a layer of fat. Simply building up your stomach muscles isn't going to decrease it--you need to get rid of this fat. Do this through a solid cardio workout program. If you don't currently exercise, you may see results by starting a modest--30 minutes a day--cardio exercise program. If you currently do cardio exercise, change your routine and step things up. Work harder or faster to burn more calories.

2. Schedule time for core building workouts. Core workouts, such as Pilates, sculpt your abdominal muscles, which will show through as you lose the fat. Do these types of exercises three to four times a week. Don't do a core routine every day because your muscles need time to repair.

3. Watch your diet. Getting rid of the last bit of fat from your tummy requires you to look carefully at the foods that you're eating. Choose low fat foods and avoid refined carbohydrates. Look at the nutrition labels for added salt, which can cause bloating. Focus your diet on low calorie and high fiber foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.

4. Consider a tummy tuck. Some belly pooches are a result of loose skin caused by rapid weight loss. If you've recently lost a lot of weight, but are frustrated by the pooch this has caused, talk with a qualified plastic surgeon to see what she can do for you. Plastic surgery should be seen as a last resort and you should only consider it if you are sure that you know follow a healthy diet and exercise plan. If you don't, you'll quickly regain any weight that you lose through the tummy tuck.
