Take advantage of available discounts when visting the Walt Disney World Resorts.
When planning your Walt Disney World vacation you are already budgeting a large chunk of change just for the room accommodations at a resort. However, to help save money when planning your vacation, look into different discounted rates and other specials available for Disney vacations. As a guest of the Walt Disney World resorts you will be offered different specials for booking early, booking online or being a member of specific demographic. No matter when you are planning on staying or what the reason you may qualify for a discount, it does not hurt to ask, because there are sometimes specials offered by the Walt Disney World Resorts that you might be unaware of.
Instructions
1. Call Walt Disney World directly. You can call the Walt Disney World Resorts directly and see if there are any available discounts. Some discounts offered directly through Disney include Florida residency, Disney passholders AAA, Disney Vacation Club, military and veterans and early booking discounts.
2. Keep calling back. Just because there were no discounts available when you booked your reservation does not mean there will not be any in a week or two from then. Keep calling back and ask if any vacation deals or discounts have come available and ask if it can be applied to your existing reservation.
3. Book your vacation in the off seasons. During non-peak travel periods the Disney resorts offer cheaper rates than normal. Times of the year when prices tend to be less expensive and discounts are offered include May, September and October.
4. Speak with your travel agent. Your travel agent will be able to look into and set up the best possible discounted rates for your Disney vacation. He or she will be able to see which resorts are offering discounts and if Disney has any specials going on during the period you are planning on visiting.
5. Book your vacation through online outlets. Websites such as Expedia and Travelocity offer discounted rates for room only vacations at the Walt Disney World Resorts. These special rates are listed on the sites as "promotion rates" or sometime referred to as "Magical Fall Rates." With these sites you will not be able to purchase the Disney Dining Plan or take advantage of any other Disney specials that are not listed in any of these online package offers. Some additional fees and charges may be applied to your vacation.
6. Purchase multiple day theme park tickets. When purchasing your theme park tickets you will get a discount when you purchase more days. The more ticket days your purchase the cheaper the cost per ticket, per day will be. Theme park ticket options that will also help save money is to purchase the park hopper option, water parks and more and the no expiration date options. These options will give you access to the water parks, DisneyQuest and should you happen to not be able to use all of the days this vacation, you can save them for the next.
