Have A Kate Winslet Movie Marathon

Born in 1975, Kate Winslet became a household name thanks to the 1997 blockbuster hit "Titanic," in which she starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. She has been able to hold on to her acting credibility through roles in films such as "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "Finding Neverland." With roles in a variety of other films, Winslet's quirky sense of humor and British charm has made her a fast favorite among the film industry. Does this Spark an idea?

1. Watch "Heavenly Creatures," the 1994 film that was Winslet's big break into film acting. Winslet co-stars as Juliet Hulme, one of two close friends. Juliet and Pauline share a love of fantasy literature. They conspire to kill Pauline's mother when she tries to end the girls' close (if not too close) relationship.


2. Watch the 1995 romantic drama "Sense and Sensibility." Winslet co-stars opposite Emma Thompson as Marianne Dashwood, one of the three Dashwood sisters left poor after their rich father, Mr. Dashwood, dies. This role earned Winslet an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress.


3. Watch the 1996 adaptation of "Hamlet," starring Kenneth Branagh as Hamlet. Kate co-stars as Ophelia, the object of Prince Hamlet's affections.


4. Watch "Titanic," the 1997 blockbuster that skyrocketed Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio into Hollywood super stardom. Winning 11 Oscars in 1998 (including the Oscar for best picture), this film is one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Winslet portrays Rose DeWitt Bukater alongside DiCaprio's Jack Dawson to depict the fictional romance between the two aboard the ill-fated ship.


5. Watch the 2000 drama "Quills," which was nominated for three Oscars. Winslet stars as Madeleine LeClerc, the beautiful laundress who helps run the Charantaon Insane Asylum with Abbe de Coulmier (Joaquin Phoenix). An infamous writer known as the Marquis de Sade of 18th century France (Geoffrey Rush) becomes imprisoned at the asylum, and many secrets begin to be unearthed.


6. Watch the 2004 romantic drama "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," which won the Oscar for best writing in an original screenplay in 2005. Winslet was nominated for the Oscar for best performance by an actress in a leading role for her portrayal of Clementine Kruczynski. Clementine undergoes a procedure to erase her ex-boyfriend Joel Barish (Jim Carey) from her memory. A heartbroken Joel decides to do the same -- yet as he watches his memories of her fade away, he realizes that he still loves her and must try to win her back.


7. Watch the 2004 drama "Finding Neverland." In the film based on a true story, Johnny Depp stars as J.M. Barrie, the playwright best known for writing "Peter Pan." In 1903 England, Barrie has writer's block until he meets the children of the widow Sylvia Llewelyn Davies (Winslet). He becomes friends with the ailing Sylvia and her children, and they provide the main source of inspiration for his development of "Peter Pan."


8. Watch the 2006 romantic comedy "The Holiday." Two women unlucky in love swap homes for Christmas and wind up finding men in unlikely places. Winslet co-stars opposite Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Jude Law.
