Gain Sponsors For A Fundraiser

There are several ways to gain sponsorships for your fundraiser

Holding a fundraiser can bring awareness of your cause to the community, and it's a way to obtain funds to help you support this cause. For example, if you're the owner of a mentoring agency for at-risk youth, a fundraiser is a good option for seeking funds and promoting this agency. When seeking sponsors, it's important to find those who are in line with your causes because this makes it easier to gain sponsorship.

Instructions

1. Write letters to local businesses. In the letters, discuss the mission of your organization, what services your organization provides to the community and the purpose of holding the fundraiser. Be sure to contact primarily businesses that have a history of sponsoring fundraisers for similar causes as yours.

2. Contact private organizations in your area. Before writing to them, research these organizations and find out what kinds of fundraisers and causes they've sponsored in the past. In your letters to the organizations' directors, give a detailed background of yourself, how you help the community and the purpose of your fundraiser.

3. Seek out sponsors in local media. For example, if you're holding a fundraiser to purchase more supplies for your tutoring center, contact some college radio stations in your area and offer to meet with the stations' general managers to inquire about gaining sponsorships from them. Also visit some local public-access TV stations and seek sponsorships from the managers there.
