Get Around New Orleans Without A Car

New Orleans is a fun and exciting place to visit. The Big Easy is not only full of Southern hospitality but the city is easy to navigate even without a car. The best thing about New Orleans is that it is not a big city with miles of major intersections and highways, so you can use public transportation. Relax and enjoy the pleasure of not driving. Remember the famous expression in New Orleans--“Laissez les bon temps rouler”--or let the good times roll!

Instructions

1. Ride the bus. New Orleans has an excellent Regional Transit system.

2. Take a trip on the streetcar. The trolley-inspired excursion rides across train tracks starting from South Carrolton to Saint Charles Avenue with a final destination of Canal Street in downtown New Orleans.

3. Take a taxi, which are conveniently positioned at various locations throughout the city.

4. Consider a casual stroll or walk in New Orleans. During big celebrations like Mardi Gras and The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival it is advisable to walk due to the large volume of crowds and traffic congestion.
