Get A Proper Fitting For Running Shoes

Finding the correct fit shouldn't be a challenging task.

When it comes to running shoes, it is important to get the best fit, or you can really hurt your feet. Constricting shoes can cause blisters and other uncomfortable problems while a loose shoe can cause you to trip. The process is all about taking the time to test the comfort of the shoe before you purchase it. Most times, you can tell whether the show fits properly or not just from putting it on.

Instructions

1. Slip on the shoe. Tie the shoelaces so the top of the shoe fits snugly against your foot but does not place unpleasant pressure on your foot. Lightly tap the tip of your foot against the floor to adjust the position of the shoe on your foot.

2. Squeeze the widest part of the shoe until you feel the pressure on your foot. The widest part of the shoe should house the ball of your foot, so that is where you should feel the pressure.

3. Wiggle your toes and rotate your ankle to ensure you have the full range of movement you need. Running shoes are usually much more flexible than other shoes.

4. Put your weight on the foot with the shoe and lift your other leg. The shoe should allow your foot to sit balanced so you aren't leaning one way or the other while you stand.

5. Put on the second shoe. Walk quickly around the store and jog slightly to determine how the shoes handle during exercise. Your foot should feel protected, but no part of it should chafe against any part of the shoe.
